Patrol Officers - Hazlehurst Police Department

The Hazlehurst Police Department is looking for Georgia Post Certified Law Enforcement Officers who will serve and protect through dedication, professionalism, active cooperation with the community, and respect for human dignity. HPD is dedicated to finding, training, and retaining the highest quality police officers possible. The candidate selected will wear many hats while on duty, including those of diplomat, counselor, traffic controller, security expert, social worker and more.

Minimum Requirements

  • Georgia P.O.S.T. Certification

  • U.S. Citizen

  • Possess a valid driver's license 

  • 21 years of age

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate

  • Have no felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude or domestic violence

  • Other Requirements may apply

Selection Process:

  • Oral interview

  • Drug Screening Test

  • Background Investigation

  • Pass psychological and physical exams
